Our sections and categories


Creativity wears many hats, and so do our Annual Awards.

The Creative Review Annual Awards feature eight sections: Advertising, Craft, Creative Effectiveness, Creative Tech, Design, Entertainment, Experience and Most Creative.

Each section celebrates a different side of creative excellence, from big ideas and brand storytelling to beautiful execution and technical innovation.

Communications that use creativity and strategic thinking to promote brands, businesses, organisations and ideas

Can appear in print or digital formats, or as part of an integrated campaign.

Creative Effectiveness

Creative Effectiveness

Measuring the long-term impact of creativity on businesses and brands.

Projects entered into the Creative Effectiveness award can fall into any of our featured sections but must have been launched between June 2022 and June 2024 in order to allow time to see evidence of impact and results.

Entries to this section will need to submit evidence of effectiveness. This could be through an increase in sales linked to the creative work; proven increase in brand awareness; creation of new revenue streams; and more.

Creative tech

Creative and design work that is rooted in advanced and emerging technologies


App Design

Applications for mobile, smart TV or other closed platforms.


Creative Use of AI

Projects making use of artificial intelligence in creative ways.


Creative Use of Data

Projects that are inspired by data or where data is central to their design.


Design

Communication design for brands, businesses and organisations that uses creativity to engage and inspire audiences

Including name, logo, tone, tagline, typeface etc. Can include both large and small organisations (please specify size in the entry info).

Wayfinding

Print or digital signage and other environmental graphics for towns and cities, commercial or cultural buildings or developments, and public services.

Entertainment

Design and creativity for the worlds of film, TV, games and music

Album Launch Marketing Campaign

To include advertising, events, promotions etc related to the launch of an album.

Branded Content

Including long-format online films, native advertising and sponsored content for publications.

Creative Innovation in Games

Experiences or worlds created for games or gaming culture.

Creator Content

Projects created for brands, businesses and organisations by, or in partnership with, creators or influencers

Graphic Design for Film and TV

Including props, set design etc.

Music Video

Including all promos created to promote singles or albums in the past year.

Music-Brand Partnership

Celebrating the most creative partnerships between brands and musicians.

Including sets, art direction and the design of specific elements such as on set graphics or UI.

Including opening titles and end credit sequences.

Experiential and immersive design for brands, businesses and organisations, including both physical and virtual

Projects that merge real-world environments with digital imagery and interfaces.

Experiential

Digital experiences in a physical environment, including retail, exhibition spaces and art installations.

Installations & Exhibitions

Designs for museums, galleries and visitor attractions, including permanent and temporary exhibitions, trade shows and installations.

Digital products, environments, systems, and services, including UX/UI design.

Creative projects made to support live events or performances, including across music, theatre, branded events and more

Projects that use virtual reality to deliver an immersive experience.

Most Creative

Our Most Creative categories celebrate the creative businesses and brands that produced the standout work of the year. These awards are free to enter, so long as you have submitted three or more projects to the Annual Awards so we can see a breadth of your work from across the year

Most Creative Advertising Agency

The winning agency will demonstrate how its creative approach helps its clients to achieve their strategic objective(s) while also helping to deliver financial value. The judges will be looking for examples of true partnership and collaboration as well as examples of creative and innovative thinking in tackling business, category or sector challenges.

Each year, we spotlight the ideas, designs and campaigns that raise the bar for commercial creativity. 

Across eight sections, from Advertising and Design to Craft and Creative Tech, prizes are awarded across three categories: 


Winner – Recognising the most exceptional work of the year across each section and category. 

Grand Prix – Reserved for projects that redefine excellence, awarded where the jury believes the work demands it. 

Most Creative – Honouring the year’s leading creative forces; the top advertising agency, design studio, in-house team, production company and brand.
